On The Road Again

7/6/09 ~ After a relaxing weekend at our own homes for the fourth of july, we reunited Sunday night at Bobby's house and slept there before trekking out for the third chapter of our journey. We woke up Monday morning to a breakfast of waffles thanks to Bobby's mom, said our goodbyes and began chapter three. The morning was beautiful, and it felt great to be back on the bikes again, back to our roaming lifestyle. As we rode north, WGAL newstation intersected us in Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area (Project 70) and ended up taping and interviewing us. We have yet to see the newscast, but were told it was on the 12:00 news and the 6:00 news later that night. If possible we will try to put the newscast on the blog. Soon after, we crossed out of Lancaster county and rode the rolling hills of Eastern Pennsylvania into Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Soon after arriving in this tourist town nestled in the Lehigh Valley by the Lehigh River; we went to a bike shop to network and look for place to stay. The woman working at the bike shop immediately directed us to one of their drivers Sean Mccarty, and without hesitation he obliged. He was working at the time, so we spent the afternoon napping in the park. After work Sean drove us up to his place in Summit Hill and we spent the evening listening to Sean's stories doing adventure camps with juvenile delinquents, Seth jamming with him playing the mandolin, and learning about his various hobbies and jobs (tieing flies for flyfishing, volkswagon restoration, massage therapy). Sean was the man and was very hospitable, this was a great start to the third chapter of our journey.
